The Lanmark Installation story starts about three decades ago when Steve White Jr, a successful D1 golfer, graduated from Clemson University and looked to elevate his practice regimen in hopes of making the PGA tour.
Our Humble BeginningAn Innovative Putting Green
The Lanmark Installation journey began nearly 30 years ago when Steve White Jr., a former D1 golfer from Clemson University, aimed to enhance his practice routine. Drawing from his family's synthetic turf background, he created a realistic artificial grass putting green. This personal project gained popularity, leading Steve to choose entrepreneurship over a PGA Tour career.
Building a Team toShape the Industry
Steve knew he wanted to pursue his business, but he needed help. He reached out to his friend and accomplished businessman, Ron Bennett, and the rest is history. Together, they launched XGrass and transformed the industry. As demand grew, so did the team. What started as a small operation with just four employees quickly expanded to seven, with friends and family stepping in to support the company's rapid growth. Today, we have over 800 employees, and those original seven are still part of the executive team.
A Focus on InstallationDeveloping Systems & Processes
Through years of hands-on experience, our team developed advanced installation techniques and artificial grass systems that set industry standards. We experimented with sub-base construction, tested different materials, and refined processes to create surfaces that performed better and lasted longer. These innovations became the foundation of Lanmark Installation's approach today.
Expanding CapabilitiesThe Move to Manufacturing
To further improve turf performance and durability, we invested in fiber extrusion and acquired one of the largest turf manufacturing facilities in the U.S. This allowed us to design and produce custom-engineered turf solutions, optimizing fiber shapes, backing materials, and infill options for different applications.
The Recreational GroupComplete Solutions
Armed with a vertically integrated operation for producing artificial grass, we added even more expertise with our acquisitions of Polygreen and Ultra Base - manufacturers of foam shock padding and innovative interlocking base panels used in many turf installation applications.
Next, we scoured the country for the leading artificial grass installers, adding Synthetic Grass Pros of Dallas, Turf & Sport of Phoenix, Perfect Turf of Chicago and EasyGrass of Miami to the RG family and expanding our knowledge and experience in artificial grass installation exponentially.

Lanmark Installation is poised to be the industry leader in synthetic turf installation, leveraging decades of innovation, hands-on expertise, and vertically integrated manufacturing to deliver the highest quality turf systems available. What started as a simple putting green has become a nationally recognized installation powerhouse—one dedicated to setting new standards in the industry.
