Our Story

It all started about three decades ago when Steve White Jr, a successful D1 golfer, graduated from Clemson University and developed a process for building artificial grass putting greens that simulated natural, bent grass greens.

As demand for his realistic golf greens exploded, he partnered with his friend and accomplished businessman, Ron Bennett, to help with the business. Together, the two developed innovative artificial grass installation processes for playgrounds, pet facilities and more…tackling the landscaping industry's toughest applications and eventually transforming the landscape surfacing industry.

Better Grass,Better Installs

In working to develop the innovative installation processes that helped transform the artificial grass industry, Ron and Steve quickly learned that using better artificial grass allowed them to deliver better installations.

Determined to install only the best materials, they began manufacturing their own yarn and tufting their own products - eventually becoming one of the largest suppliers of artificial grass in the country.

Known now as The Recreational Group (RG), the company distributes over 120,000,000 square feet of artificial grass per year…many of which are produced in our 280,000 square foot facility in Dalton Georgia.
